How to Choose a Leather Belt
Width. Choose 35mm for smarter trousers and 40mm for jeans and heavier country or work clothing.
Colour. Match your belt to your shoes or boots where you can. Brown goes with tan, brown and most country boots; black goes with black shoes.
Style. A plain smooth or calfskin belt is the most versatile. Hand-brushed and burnished leather gives a more relaxed, rustic look. Patchwork and croc-effect belts are better as a feature piece.
How to Measure Your Belt Size
The most reliable way is to measure a belt that already fits. Lay it flat and measure from the fold where the leather meets the buckle to the hole you use most. Belt sizes are usually about an inch or two larger than your trouser waist size, so do not just order your trouser size. If you do not have a belt that fits, measure around your waist where the belt will sit and check the size chart on the product page. If you are between sizes, choose the larger one, as most belts have several holes.
Caring for a Leather Belt
