To find your belt size, measure your waist where the belt sits, or measure the belt you wear now from the buckle fold to the hole you use most. A good rule is to choose a belt about 2 inches (5 cm) larger than your trouser waist size, so it fits on the middle hole. This guide includes a size chart and explains belt widths.

How to measure your belt size
Method 1: measure a belt you already own
- Lay the belt flat with the buckle on the left.
- Measure from where the leather meets the buckle (the fold behind the buckle) to the hole you use most often.
- That measurement is your belt size. Do not include the buckle in the measurement.
Method 2: measure your waist
- Wrap a soft tape measure around your waist at the point where your belt sits, usually over the trouser waistband.
- Note the measurement in inches or centimetres.
- Use the chart below to find your size. If you are between sizes, choose the larger size so the belt sits on a middle hole with room to adjust.

What belt width do you need?
- 30-35mm: suits trousers, chinos and smarter outfits. Browse our 35mm belts.
- 38-40mm: suits jeans, casual wear and country clothing. Browse our 40mm belts.
Match the belt buckle size to the width of the loops on your trousers. A belt that is too wide will not fit through narrow belt loops.
Choosing a belt style
- Smart or everyday: a plain calfskin or burnished leather belt in brown or black.
- Statement and casual: our patchwork belts add colour to jeans and chinos.

Belt size FAQ
What size belt do I need for a 34 inch waist?
A 34 inch waist falls in the M range (33"-36") on our size chart. Measure your waist, then check the chart.
Should a belt be bigger than your waist size?
Yes. A belt is usually about 2 inches larger than your trouser waist size, so it fastens on the middle hole.
Which hole should a belt fasten on?
The middle hole, so you have room to tighten or loosen the belt as needed.
Is a belt measured with or without the buckle?
Without. Measure from the fold behind the buckle to the hole you use.
How do you look after a leather belt?
Keep it dry, wipe it with a soft cloth and avoid direct heat. Condition leather occasionally with a leather cream.
