A Brief History of Tilley
Tilley Endurables was founded in Canada in 1980 by Alex Tilley. The first Tilley hat was designed for sailing: a cotton duck hat with a snap-up brim and two straps to stop it blowing off in the wind. It proved so practical that the brand went on to make travel and outdoor hats and clothing, and the Tilley hat became a familiar sight on walkers, travellers and sailors around the world.

Which Tilley Hat Should I Choose?
For sun protection and travel, look for a UPF 50+ hat such as the Tilley T3 Wanderer or the lightweight T1 bucket hat. The AIRFLO styles, including the LTM5 and LTM6, are cooler on hot days. For wet British weather, the waxed cotton Outback and the water-repellent All Weather hat are good choices. For walking, a hiker style gives good ventilation.
Tilley hats are sized by head measurement, so measure around your head just above your eyebrows and ears and check the size guide on each product page.
